A Workshop held on the occasion of 2024 “World Audiovisual Heritage Day”
On 5th December, a workshop on the occasion of 2024 “World Audiovisual Heritage Day” was held in the Grand People’s Study House.
Many staffs and officials from Kim Il Sung University, Grand People’s Study House (GPSH), National Authority for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, Korean Central History Museum, Korean Art Museum and other related fields participated in the workshop.
Chon Yong Nam, a staff of GPSH, gave opening remarks.
Pointing out the successes achieved in the registration of the world documentary heritage, he remarked that today’s workshop, held on the occasion of 2024 “World Audiovisual Heritage Day” would be a valuable occasion for improving preservation of and access to the documentary heritage by acquiring the worldwide technology and experiences in this field.
Opening remarks were followed by the presentations of the participants.
They mentioned the importance of the world documentary heritage and presented the documentary heritages of our country registered as Memory of the World, also introduced general issues arising around the world in relation to the preservation of documentary heritage.
Before closing the newly translated-published book “Towards Sustainable Preservation and Accessibility of the Documentary Heritage” was distributed to the participants.
This book may bring people to understand more clearly the importance of the sustainable preservation of the documentary heritage and help to take measures to protect and guarantee the accessibility of the documentary heritage permanently.
