The theme should be obvious in the architectural design and construction
One day in June of a year, when the reconstruction and repair work in the May Day Stadium was in full swing, the respected comrade Kim Jong Un visited the May Day Stadium and gave valuable instructions, inquiring about the progress of the project.
He pointed out the deviations appeared during the progress of the project and stressed that the terrace was the main factor of the reconstruction and repair work in the May Day Stadium and designers and other relevant officials should develop a high sense of responsibility.
Then he told that it was wonderful to see the red plastic chairs in the first floor’s terrace of the stadium, and admonished that as the color of the terrace chairs was red, that of the upper and lower sides of the terrace should be painted white and that of the upper and lower passages blue, in the sense of symbolizing the flag of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, and, in particular, blue color of passages should be clear as if they seemed to be covered with blue carpet.
Officials could not repress admiration. Painting the terrace with colors symbolizing the flag of the DPRK was a wonderful idea from the aesthetic point of view, as well as in the nature of the stadium where sportspersons were exercising and playing with sweat in their ardent desire to fully demonstrate the honor of the country to the world.
All officials were excited by respected General Secretary, and then he continued to teach that in the field of construction, the theme should be clear in the architectural construction as well as in the architectural design, and in a word, the theme should be clear even in the painting.
Like this he guided step by step to preserve the national identity even in a building.
Under the care of respected General Secretary, who was going to cherish the noble patriotic mind in the hearts of the Korean people, the May Day Stadium was renovated as a monumental edifice symbolizing and further sublimating the patriotism of the Korean people.
