Uncompromising Policy

During the eight-term of the Party Central Committee along with a lot of grim, difficult and scarce situations at home and abroad, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un had courageous determination and the guts to change the appearance of the capital city once again through grand construction, so he launched a large operation to build 50 000 flats in Pyongyang.

At the Second Plenary Meeting of the 8th Party Central Committee, he warned officials in the economic sector of their tendency towards self-protection and defeatism to imitate others while shouldering fewer responsibilities, on the pretext of the conditions and environment. He solemnly declared that building 10 000 flats in Pyongyang every year was uncompromising policy. Later, he issued an order of president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to complete the construction of 50 000 flats in Pyongyang on the highest level through the coordinated army-people operation.

This was how the ground-breaking ceremony of building 10 000 flats took place in the Songsin and Songhwa areas of Sadong District, Pyongyang in March 2021, which was the start-up of the construction of 50 000 flats in Pyongyang.

As it is our duty of our Party to keep the promise made with the people and he has such a strong desire to provide them with a stable and enviable home by keeping the promise, he opened up a new era of prosperity in Pyongyang with his energetic leadership.
