Those who are more vulnerable to cold are taking every day more salt as compared with ordinary people.
If you take excessive amount of salt, the concentration of sodium chloride will rise in your body. Sodium constrains airway cell activity, lowers cell immunity and reduces the saliva in the mouth; in this case filamentous fungi decrease relatively and as a result the cold virus can infiltrate into mouth and throat very easily.
Therefore if you take large quantities of salt, you are liable to catch a cold, a sore throat, virus pneumonia, bronchtis, etc.
